Last year, 100,000 people showed up in just five days. This year, Port Village Busan 2026 is back with a bigger footprint — 4,300 pyeong (about 14,200 square meters) of Pier 1 at Busan Port transformed into an “Underwater Village” themed festival, with around 60 food and drink vendors, 50 lifestyle market stalls, live performances, experience zones, and a view of Busan harbor. Free entry, no reservation needed. If your travel dates overlap, it’s an easy addition to any Busan itinerary.

Getting There
The fastest way is on foot from Jungang Station (Busan Metro Line 1) — Exit 4 or 5, about 500m (8 minutes). If you’re coming from Busan Station, a taxi runs about ₩5,000 (~$3) for the 2km ride. Public transit or walking is strongly recommended — there’s no parking inside the festival grounds, and the surrounding area fills up quickly on weekends.

The Underwater Village Concept
Port Village isn’t just a food market with a name. The 2026 edition is built around an “Underwater Village” story concept — sections of the festival grounds are named and themed around an undersea world, and moving through the space feels like exploring different zones rather than wandering a generic market. Indoor areas (East Gate and West Gate dining halls) offer shade and air conditioning. The outdoor sections — Wave Yard and Wave Playground — face the harbor.

On the hour, every hour, a bubble show runs in the central square. If you’re there at sunset, the light across Busan Port is worth staying for.
I came in during a weekday afternoon, and the crowd was manageable enough that the whole experience felt relaxed rather than rushed. The stamp on your hand at entry covers re-entry, so leaving for a break and coming back is an option.

Food and Drink
Sixty vendors means a lot of choices, which is part of the appeal and part of the problem. The lineup includes well-known Busan brands, Michelin-recognized names, established local institutions, and newer food concepts — all in the same space.

A selection of notable booths — chosen based on crowd response and personal interest during the visit:
| Vendor | Signature item |
|---|---|
| Sehoskitchen | Gijang anchovy paella |
| Samiheon | Flambéed braised beef rib rice + galbi-tang ochazuke |
| Gwanganhok | Charcoal-grilled rib lettuce wrap sandwich |
| Baegil-seop | Yeosu samhap pad thai |
| Tarakoso X Deokhwa Myungran | Myungtteok (spicy rice cake with mentaiko) |
| People Works X Sinbalon | Dumpling tacos |
Full vendor information is available via the QR code on Kakao Maps posted at the entrance.
I went with the Gijang anchovy paella from Sehoskitchen — ₩15,000 (~$10). I’d seen the booth at the Busan Cinema Center Christmas Market last winter but the line was too long. This time, midweek, I walked right up. The anchovies don’t make it fishy — they go into the base and disappear into flavor. What you actually taste is the seafood: mussels, shrimp, and squid, packed in. It was the most intensely flavored paella I’ve had.

Aqua Pass (Optional)
General admission is free, and based on visitor reviews, weekday crowds are easy enough to navigate without any upgrade. If you’re coming on a weekend evening when lines build up, the Aqua Pass is worth considering — it includes fast-track entry, a mobile cash voucher usable at food stalls, a commemorative badge, and special goods. The consensus from visitors is: skip it on weekdays, consider it for busy weekend evenings.

BTS ARIRANG BUSAN Lounge
BTS is holding concerts in Busan on June 12 and 13, and Port Village has a dedicated activation to mark the occasion — the BTS THE CITY ARIRANG BUSAN Lounge, at the far end of the outdoor section. Benefits include fast-track entry, reserved harbor-view seating, and table service (staff bring food from selected vendors directly to your table, rather than the usual self-service setup). A stamp rally tied to Weverse QR codes is also running during the festival.

Budget and Practical Tips
Plan for around ₩20,000–30,000 (~$13–20) per person for food and drinks, including a beer or two. Weekday evenings offer the best balance of atmosphere and manageable crowds. Weekend afternoons tend to be the busiest.
Pets are welcome. Nursing room and accessible restrooms are available on site. The hand stamp from the entrance lets you come and go freely.
If you’re already in the area, Big Dipper Library is a 10-minute walk from Jungang Station and worth a stop before or after the festival. The Yeongdo Bridge and Ganggangyi Art Village walk is another good option for building out the day.
Port Village Busan runs through June 21 — if the dates line up, it’s a straightforward addition to any time spent in the city.
